This press kit introduces Cocono, a Belgian design brand focused on crafting high-quality rugs and home décor from upcycled interior-grade materials. It includes our process, product specifications, material sourcing, and production methods - along with brand imagery and contact information for press and collaborators.
Highlights
Material Sourcing & Selection
Cocono works exclusively with leftover yarns sourced from European textile mills producing for interior design markets. These yarns are already dyed - typically intended for upholstery, wall textiles, or luxury carpets -and are selected based on fiber type (wool, polyamide, viscose, Tencel), thickness, and color families. No new material is ordered or re-dyed.
Production & Technique
All rugs and home items are produced in small batches, using hand-tufting and loom-finishing techniques depending on the design. The production takes place in collaboration with specialized textile workshops that respect low-waste practices and high-precision craftsmanship. Edges, backing, and finishing are executed with attention to durability and aesthetic refinement.
Design Identity
Cocono’s collections range from bold, high-contrast color compositions to neutral, sculptural forms, always guided by the available palette of repurposed yarns. Each piece is visually intentional - designed to complement minimalist or maximalist spaces with distinct form, texture, and personality.
Sustainability & Values
Our approach is grounded in material consciousness, anti-waste production, and limited-batch design. Rather than overproducing, we create around constraints - ensuring that each product is naturally limited, non-replicable at scale, and designed with long-term use in mind. Sustainability is not a claim; it’s integrated in every decision.
